About this dive site

This is a relatively easy shore dive if you have access to Naval Base Guam. It offers a diverse and pleasant reef as well as wrecks. To get to the entrance for this site, once on base, follow the main road until you come upon a 4-way stop sign with the Marina on the right and the road to Gab Gab on the left. Go straight through that and park near the rusted piers. There is a ladder that you can use to enter the water. Once in the water, line yourself up with the western rusted pier and the mooring buoy. Descend and look for a cable at 60 feet that will lead you out and down to the Plane, otherwise follow your compass northward until you get down to about 85-90 feet which is where the Japanese Sea Plane rests. Once you have explored the plane, gradually follow the reef back up to about 40-30 feet and go east. You will pass a metal boxlike structure, which is roughly in front of the eastern pier. From the box, follow the reef line and you will find a plane’s wing and cockpit. A pontoon lies at about 60 feet below, and the engine can be found much deeper. Head west along the shallow reef back to your entrance spot to end your dive.
