60-100 ft Ron’s reef is a colorful reef located at the tip of the Glass Breakwater. Always done by boat, it can be drift starting at first beach on the south side of the jetty or starting at the RMS Scotia on the northern side. As you drift to the west, the reef flat narrows with steeply sloping sides to the north and south. The captain will remind you to stay in the shallows, being careful to not drop down to the south towards the shipping channel. Blue Coral is a found here and is a favorite for macro photographers. Sandy areas are brightly lit by mid-day sun, and along with the rich fish and coral life make this site enjoyable for divers of all levels. Always deploy your surface buoy before surfacing, in order to alert marine traffic of your presence.
